1999 Honda Accord EX Stereo code
HELP!
I had a new alternator put in my Accord last week and now I'm getting "code E". Where do I find the unlock code? Do I have to go to the honda shop or can I do this myself? It's a stock CD/AM/FM.

I wonder why my '99 doesn't need a code?
Anyway, it sounds like you'll need the serial number off of the radio, here's a recent thread which includes instructions on how to maybe get the serial number from the radio without removing it, and a guy who says he can give you the code if you tell him the serial number.

If you do have to remove it, it's not a big deal on this car.

I am a car audio installer for Circuit City. You can get the code from any honda dealer just pull out your radio and get the serial number and get the vin number for your car. Here are instructions to get your radio out if i remember correctly.
Pry out your clock in the top of the dash with a small flat head and remove the phillips screw behind it. Remove 2 phillips screws on the bottom of the dash piece near your shifter, they are almost vertical so use a small phillips screw driver or a skew driver. You should be able to pull the dash piece out now, might need to pry it out a little bit. Then there are 4 8mm bolts holding the radio in, remove those and u can pull it out.
Note: You will probably have to unplug 2 harnesses from the back of the clock and 2 more from the dash piece they only fit in their proper plugs so you dont have to really rememeber what goes where.
