Default [review] robear racing tow hooks

Product: Robear Racing tow hooks
Where to get them: http://www.robearracing.com/
Price: 95 shipped
Shipping time: 4 days

bought some tow hooks from robear racing, i think it gives the car a nice look without adding anything flashy.. and can get you out of a ditch easy if you do something dumb. My only concern before i bought them was the weight, but when they came the tow hooks where lighter than the actual bolts that mount them.

Installation is very simple,

for the rear, it's 2 bolts, 1 passes threw the tow loop, the other threw the the tow hook as well. Tighten bolt at the angle you want, done. I was little paranoid so i threw some jb weld around the nut and made it a little harder for the avg hommie with a socket/monkey wrench to try to be hero's.

for the front, I've opted to mount them on my other civic, which has a custom front radiator support.. so I'm going to wait until i get my backyard special front bumper before i mount it. Will take pics when its done.

Overall impression.. MMMmmm good.. i love them, robear was great.

That is ugly. Why not just use the stock tow loop?

well.. ironic you buys bring up that it makes it easy for thieves to steal..

cause overnight i put a chain threw the larger loop, and then to a post near my car.. lol.. so... i sleep a little better at night.

Your review left one thing out: you didn't use them for their intended purpose.

I made tow straps from materials at Home Depot for $25, and put them on when I get to the track. They pull me out of the gravel trap just fine; of course, they don't bling.

Start towing ****. This review sucks unless you tow something.

You sleep better at night cuz you have something with two bolts holding your car to a light post? No thanks...and it looks like ***. Only use I could see of that thing is like an anti-tailgate device

That works also, to each his own.
Couple of our sponsored cars prefer the strap, but i do love my hooks, especially when people ask "WTF" are those.

Seriously, 90$ for....what does this actually do? Why would you need to extend your rear towing attachment?
Only thing I can think of is if you rally and get stuck in DEEP mud to where you couldnt access the hook on the frame maybe.

I would have spent the money on the muffler it looks like you are missing. Not on worthless tow hooks that makes your car easier to steal.
