whats the advantage and disadvantages of a itr "shortblock" and "longblock"
Which is better? I don't know how to even approach that question, but let's just say you get more of the engine with the longblock.

For anyone who is wondering the shortblock is gennerally just the block (the bottom with the pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, flywheel). The longblock would be that plus the head which should for the most part have the basic intake/exhaust system (throttle body,Intake manifold, camshafts, valves) but dont expect a header (maybe though). Basically a shortblock is everything from the valvecover to oilpan, consider yourself lucky if you get all the ignition stuff and it actually works. and a "conversion" usually includes the transmission and any drive train stuff and an ECU. Yikes anything else to add!??
I tried to answer his original question ("Which is Better?") and got frustrated and gave up trying to explain it.
"Basically a shortblock is everything from the valvecover to oilpan"
I'm sure you meant longblock here.
As far as which is better, without prices and what you'll doing with it there's no way of saying.
