These should help with some of your questions. Looks like a good kit to me, though.

Yeah I just bought one. I have the ASR subframe brace, 22mm ITR swaybar, and Tein Flex coilovers lowered about 2". I have the Eibach front swaybar on with some PU bushings. I have a rear strut tower bar but not one in the front, cuz it wont fit with the stock intake. but I am thinking about getting that really sexy passwordjdm.com one. MMMMMMM. I am still on the stock tires for some reason.
ANYWAYS:
The subframe brace made a real difference b/c I can actually feel that the rear of the car is a lot stiffer than stock. It really helps keep the frame stiff so the suspension does the work that its supposed to do. I can take corners at about 35 which is pretty fast on stock tires and I haven't broken coming around yet which means I could prolly go faster. I cant imagine what the car would be like with that monster 32mm hollow bar that they sell. Ill see if I can post up some pics later today.

from a structal point of view comptech's is strong, however i don't think that the ASR kit will fail, i think it is plent good.

I've seen it installed, it is definitely a nice piece. The idea is to strengthen the rear subframe. The ITR subframe is stronger than the USDM EG/DC/EKs. When you mount the bigger swaybars on the non-ITRs it can tear the subframe over time. The A-Spec unit reinforces the rear subframe so you can safely use a real swaybar.
From my experience, rear lower tie bars help the car take a set quicker in the turns. Without them the back end will wiggle a little before settling into a turn. The A-Spec unit will add the same stability of a tie bar, while also protecting the subframe from the twisting effects of a big rear bar.
I had a rear subframe tear and start to separate from the chassis on the track one time. That was no fun at all. If you are going to run a big rear bar I would highly recommend one of these braces.
For those that don't know me I do work at Password and am good friends with the owner of A-Spec-Racing. But I've done my share of wheel to wheel racing in Hondas.
