Default Ls/Vtec compression question

Whats going on everyone, i have a fully built Ls/Vtec motor that i used for the track on race gas. I want to make this motor on pump gas, im going to change the pistons to JE 9.5-1 compression /turbo pistons. OR with the current set up I have is Je 13.5-1 Pistons. The question I have is:
With the 13.5-1 compression, if i use a thicker head gasket will it drop the compression to make it able to run well on pump, or should I just change the pistons?? This is my curent set up
stage 3 jun head, springs, retainers, cams, 3 angle valve job,port polish,skunk2 intake manifold,holley 68mm throttle body,AEM fuel rail,f/p regulator,13.5.1 j:e piston/rod with j:e stroker kit,sleeved new piston rings. With a b16 tranny....

Any help would be great!!
