Default MPFI....I searched I swear....

I"m getting ready to do an MPFI swap on an Automaitc. I'm putting in a DOHC ZC. As I was unbolting stuff from the DX motor to pull it out I started to notice the kickdown cable that goes from the tranny to the throttle rotor. I'm just wondering where I will put this on the MPFI motor since the throttle rotor doesn't have a place for it? will it be as simple as just switching the throttle rotor off of the DX motor to the ZC? or will I have to get a cable from an auto MPFI car?

I remember doing a swap like this before...i think i used an Si throttle body with an automatic throttle pulley and 86-89 Integra kickdown cable and bracket. I never did get it running though. Let us know how it turns out.

I just finished a MPFI swap on my automatic CRX, and the Si throttle body wouldn't work because of no place to put the kickdown cable. I ended up finding a guy here on h-t that had a throttle body off an automatic 90-91 Civic EX that had a dual throttle wheel. Mine works fine now.

Not sure about the 86-89 Integra one, but it might work on the DOHC ZC.

**Edit** Make sure you get the bracket for the kickdown cable that goes on the throttle body, the DX one won't work.

So you guys think the throttle rotor and bracket from a newer civic would work? Or would it have to be 90-91? Oh and any chance I could get a pic of your setup?

Doesnt really matter, I think they are all the same. I think the one I used came off an 88-91 prelude.

Anyone know the "proper" name for the the kickdown cable? I've looked at an online helms manual to find it...and it looks like they call it a throttle control cable. Is that the correct name for it? I need to call the dealer and see how much a new one is....thanks

anyone have any idea if the kickdown cable, bracket, and throttle rotor will work off of an 89 accord? hell anyone know if the whole throttle body off an accord will work on a crx?
