If memory serves me right, you open a door, turn the ignition on, and press the lock button on the new transmitter...

nothing to do with the valet button??

this seems too easy for someone to hijack your alarm system just by buying a replacement remote.

open door, turn ignition on, hit the valet button once, then hold down the valet button, you should hear a chirp from your siren then hit the lock button on your remote.

thanks! in the original installation manual it says something about the pink wire needs to be connected to the ignition in order to use the "learn routine" function...is this true for reprogramming a new remote/pager?

lets SEE!
Get in your car lock your doors manually.

stick your key in your ignition an pull it in and out 10 times within 12 seconds make sure to do it properly, and making sure the key comes out of the cylinder completely

If you have done it properly they lights will flash

After they have flashed you hit any button on the remote

And then Wala its programmed

Your directions work perfectly. Thankyou!!! I have the 474T remote and it was wearing out... I bought two new ones but couldn't find directions anywhere.

Bump for a post that saved me a ton of headache!!
