Hi All,

I own 2003 Civic Si (EP3) and it's almost time for me to replace my stock pads. This is a daily driver, but I wouldn't mind a firmer brake. I was looking at Hawk street pads, but I wasn't sure if I needed to buy a rotor with it, or just buy the pads. I would like to stay within $150 range for one axle.

I really like the Power Slot rotors coupled with the Hawk HPS Street pads. They will run about $200 plus shipping at Tire Rack. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.

 

This forum is for tires and wheels, not brake pads.

The GT Sport brake pads from Cobalt are terrific for street and light track use. They don't need warmup, they hardly ever squeal, and they have a very nice bite to them. Great brake pad. Oh, and don't worry if you can't reach Cobalt in the next few days; they're in Florida without power, from that hurricane.

You don't need to replace your rotors unless they're cracked or thinner than spec. Doing so won't give you better braking.

 

sorry, I didn't see a section for brakes so I assumed wheel and tire was close enough. Anyways, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure about the rotor and brake pad situation.
