Any thoughts on why my car feels like it wants to race in NASCAR :)
So finally got my rabbit ( i know its not a honda) out and driving didnt make the races last weekend because of my steering issues. Problem is no matter what the car wants to go right no like a drift but a full on pull. Doesnt matter if im on it or coasting i can even feel the resistance in the wheel while just sitting still. I have a spool in the car i did the alignment last friday and everything was in spec. I know with the spool im gonna get some tire chirp while turning but when i try and turn left its real bad like the whole car hops and while turning right its not bad at all. Also on and off the gas the car gets very loose when i let off the car kinda snaps back and feels like it wants to bring the backend around. Every thing is pretty much new in the suspension, brakes and steering with the expection of the rack which if i dont get some other ideas im gonna toss a new one in this weekend. Its a manuel rack i already double checked everything and everything thing is tight and looks to be in proper order. Im pretty baffled by this one
Let me know what you guys think
Thanks

try PM'ing S13Sean on here, he's got an old school drag rabbit. Also is the steering gear assembled properly, by that I mean tooth count. and have you had the car aligned? it could be something as simple as an out of spec alignment. HTH

Ha HA torque steer's a bitch....especially if you don't have power steering. I put a Quaife in my dub and first impression was woa....got get a hell of a grip on the steering wheel.
From past experiences on older vw's make sure all your a-arm bushings...ball joints...are working properly and tight....and don't forget those bushing's on the front shock towers.
A problem I had recently on my car was that it was pulling hard(squirly) at the track...i went thru everything(steering wise)all was ok. Baffled me till I was removing the rear skinny's. Even with the E-brake all the way down, the right rear caliper was only half disengaged. I could barely turn it by hand. New caliper...now goes str8.
