Default Need to change valve seals - should I splurge on other headwork?

Hey, so beginning of september im getting my valve seals replaced @ a friend's shop. Hopefully this will end my oil burning problems. From what I heard that the labor needed to chenge the seals wouldn't be much more than that needed to change cams.

So, would it be worth dropping in a set of crower stage 2s at that point? I'd plan on not messing with the computer too much just use my VAFC an possibly get a FPR, therefore I wouldn't go above stock redline. This is for 2001 SH. So my questions are:

1) would I need new valve springs and retainers if I don't plan reving past redline?

2) is it even worth it upgrading the cams if i don't rev over 8000rpm (or whtever the fuel cutoff point is)

Please feel free to offer any other options I didn't list here, I'm really open to new suggestions. Thanks guys.

Pete

Edit: I realize the title should say seals not springs

in general if you are in there i think it would be a good idea if you can shell out the cash. the valvesprings are pretty important when running high lift cams and also if you have a misshift your engine will be better capable of withstanding that kind abuse. not to mention its cheaper to shell out now while your in there.

DCwest makes a good point, but if you dont want to spend the money then dont. it wont be the end of the world thats for sure.

you still have an oem header and exhaust matted up as well.

header (i know which ones you want) - 600 - 1300
exhaust (shipping the N1) - 100
Cams - 600 (guess)
valve springs / retainers - 250 (guess)
retune - 150 (guess)

your project just jumped 2 grand.
