When i first got my car done. I was givin a base map and started the car. everything worked fine. The next day i was going to get it tuned while i was driving just 5 min after i left my house the car would drive on itself. It would rev at 4k constantly (stays reving at 4k). Even when the car was at neutral it would keep reving to 4k. When the car completely cooled down it came back to normal.
I got it towed and tuned. Everything was fine.
Recently i got new ic pipes installed and a new dp. I drove home w/ no probs.
The next day i started the car everything idled fine. I pull out of my driveway and started to drive for only 30secs. The car takes over and now it stays at a constant rev at 2.5k even in neutral.

What causes this and how can i find the prob.

 

you could create a boost leak tester... let me find a link...
or another way i thought of..

create smoke around the motor.. a vacuum leak would suck in the smoke right?

 

the prob. that i am having is it due to a vacuum leak?

 

IM ******* HAVING VACUUM PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW AND I HAD TO LEVE TWO HOURS AGO!

 

sounds like a IAC problem

 

where is the IAC located and how do i get it fixed. If there was a vacuum leak what would it do to my car?

the iacv is located on the throttle body. this is what I do to find a vaccum leak. I let the car idle and spray carb cleaner on the intake manifold, throttle body, vaccum lines and all the fittings. you know you found the vaccum leak when you spray an area and the idle goes down to normal. works everytime.

is my situation a vacuum leak? where it revs at 2.5k and stays there and never comes down?

sounds like the fast idle valve is stuck open

today i drove my car and i had no probs with idle? any other suggestions? what the problem can be?

 

any suggestions as to why it happened the way it did?
