Sunroof issues? What to do now...
Hey guys,
When I first got my car last summer my sunroof was kind of difficult to open. I had to keep tilting it up and down using the switch before it would open. I would push the switch to open it, and the back would lift up like it is going to open, and then it does nothing. So pushing the switch again, I put it back down, and then back up, and after doing this like 5 times it would open. Once it got to the point where it was opening it wasn't slow or anything like that, so I'm not sure if the problem is the motor or what... but it WILL open, it just takes some persistance.
It was a real nice day out yesterday, and I tried to open it, and for like 5 minutes I was using the switch to lift it up and down, but it would never slide back. Has anyone had this problem? Is it easy to fix? Hard to fix? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I had the same thing. I replaced the swtich, and it worked for a while, but now its starting to slow down again. It never gets stuck though. I'm putting my money on the switch for yours. It was the exact same symptoms. I would have to keep hitting it, then it would go slow sometimes, and other times it would go fine.
open it using the manual lever, then just shoot some wd40 on the sliders, grease tends to build up and it slows it down. mines gets stuck occasionally, wd40 fixes it right up.
Ok, yeah, I just looked. Under it there is like a 10mm, 12mm maybe nut... Do you turn that and the sunroof opens or what? (it's really really cold out today, too cold for ******* with my car

mine did the exact same thing. I dont have 50 bucks laying around to buy a new switch so I took out my old switch and took it apart (it is fairly easy) and cleaned all the contacts. Put it back to gether and it has worked ever since. When I got the switch working and the sunroof opening and closeing right I wiped all the old gunked up grease off my rails and put some lithium grease back on it. It has been about 6 months and no problems.

I agree with the switch issue... I took my car to the Honda dealer for the same thing, and they said that the switch gets corrosion on the connectors due to the current that flows through them. They popped mine out, scrubbed the corrosion off, and presto! Just pop that baby out and give it a good scrubbing.
Ahhh thanks for the help everyone
Next time the weather isn't ***-cold out here I'll fix it right up. (Having no garage sucks :X )
