Where are all the drag car updates...
...it seem like its been 4 or so months since we've seen anything of the laskey hot rod civic, no news on brent l's pro fwd car, the dtr-fab (forgot new name) all motor car, and all the others that i'm forgetting that were started? Come on guys we want some updates.
i just searched and found out about the laskey car and earl can't release pics because of sponsorship, etc,.
what about the RPI hot rod crx?
what about the RPI hot rod crx?
I am switching chassis in my Hot Rod class car. The CRX will be competing in the all motor class now. I will be running an integra chassis. I'll post up some pics next week.
A new hot rod integra sounds awsome, and all motor is just getting better and better.
Speaking of all motor, where are the leslie durst scion spy shots?

Its a seeeeecret... shhhh..
j/k
Car has been getting some work done to it lately. Unfortunately i had an unforeseeable setback, and it meant me finishing up the car in my spare time... which i haven't had a lot of, so progress slowed down tremendously. Lately though, i've been spending some more time with it, so hopefully i'll have something to show for it in '06
Of course depending on recent conversations i've had, it could come out as something compleeeeeetely different... but i'll save that for another rumor mill at another time if something actually happens in that direction

I remeber seeing a buch of HotRod cars that were being built back in 2002 that never got finished. I guess the class got too expensive to race?
What happened to that Hyundai Tiburon HR car that debuted at SEMA? Or Big Len's Eclipse PRWD car?

in my case, i lost out on a deal for a front driveline. and i pretty much dont have the kind of money it takes to compete with GM. it would however be a blast to drive the car, if i could complete the damn thing. we have gotten our other car completed and we recently had a problem with the engine on the dyno last week. i belive its just a valve seal, but i havent heard the outcome yet.... i would know more about it, but i can do much since my legs are broken.

ive always wonderd about the Tiburon i beleive it was supposed to be Roger (11.00) Scalise's (sp?) car...??
Ive seen Big Lens car at moroso a couple of times, (looks nice)..but it never seems to make it down the track..always seems to have problems and has to be pushed or pulled out of the lane and back into the pits..
I also remember seeing a really nice looking colorful coupe, awhile back that was built by the Kubos..?

yea, we would like to make it out to the events. we went to iss @ e-town earlier in the season, and there was just too many people, way to close to the car, when we were tryin to work on it. so we would defintily need a baricade type thing like the pro guys have, and also a huge tent type thing, it gets super hot out on the blacktop at etown.
more importantly, we need to keep working on getting the car down the track, before we hit any events. we've gone 9.7@148 with an ls trans in the car(cross the traps in 3rd gear) we've been to Atco testing on about 4 differant occasions over the summer. until now, we recently run into some gremlins with the engine. we are upgrading our fuel pressure regulator to a better unit, and than we are gonna hit the dyno again. than to the track.

Its coming along. The damage that happened in Rockingham was remarkably mild (for a dropped valve at redline.. lol), but it uncovered a HUGE issue with the bottom end. Basically, it has to be completely rebuilt... new block, sleeves and all
It'll be back soon though

I don't know what motor he was going to put in it, but the 4 cyl. rules were in effect long before that car came out. Besides, it was a complete rolling race car except for the motor. It shouldn't take three years to put a 4 cyl. motor in a car.
I guess it just bugs me to see cars that were "almost ready" and then they just disappear.
I also think the big names of the sport should do SOMETHING to stay behind the wheel of a race car before people forget about them. Lisa Kubo should see if she could get even a temp ride in somebody's HR car to keep her name in the spotlight.

Just imagine how it feels for the guys that already have all that money invested in those cars to have them just sit on jackstands for the rest of their lives. Sometimes things just happen.
Also, building the car is the -cheap- part... some people overlook the fact that it can cost more in one year to campaign a pro car, than it cost to build the car in the first place.

I realize that from 1st hand experience, but it only costs a couple hundred bucks to take a race ready car to the local import event on a rental open trailer. I know that from 1st hand experience as well. I'm just saying, get the car done and take it to a track. You don't have to pack your bags and go on tour with it. Look at Chris Rado. Even when his car was running like cr@p, he showed up at the events and stayed in the public eye. He kept his sponsors, and now he's ready to show us what he's been dreaming of. I would think someone with Roger Scalise's resume, could've gotten some kind of help to get the car finished. But, since it's been so long, his name is fading from the memories of potential sponsors. Look at Steph Eggum, it didn't take her long to climb back into a car, and now we all talk about her again. And now potential sponsors have another hot driver they can look to when they are planning their advertising budget.
