00 EX Chipped Ecu? p28
alright..so i dont know too much about ecu chips as my friend asked me if he gets the spoon p28 chipped ecu will it still have rev limiter that tells him to shift...or does it block it off and keep going and will let engine blow and second would it add horespower to his sohc vtec ..as i know it will on mine because it is dohc vtec

first off the rev limiter is not there to tell you to shift. it's there to protect the engine if you screw up and don't shift. a "chip"s rev limiter can be set to anything you want or even disabled for serious damage potential. (sarcastic

you will need an OBD1 ECU to run a "chip". So you will need the ECU and conversion harness.
Also it will make a little difference on a SOHC engine if he has bolt ons and/or cams. The same with your DOHC.
