suspension question
Hey all,
Just picked up a super clean 91 CRX Si for $1700
Its already got a few things done to it.. thankfully the past owner kept it clean.
I believe it has KYB struts and intrax springs (1 3/4" drop I think). These components any good? Doesnt seem to ride too bad, but I noticed the driver side rear squeaks and has a slight lean to it (sits lower).
I'm guessin it has a bad rear strut and was thinking about switching over the suspension from my 91 DX hatchback which is currently sitting. The 91 hatch as Bilstein (yellow ones) struts and neuspeed race springs.
Are my two cars' suspension interchangable?... and would you recommend me doing the swap?
Also, what about bumpstops. Do these little 2" or so bumpstops need cut in half when using the suspension setups described above?
Thanks for the help.
I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I can.. I have to derice a little eliminating clear corners..and some err..yellow under the hood
peace

alright 2002 time for a lesson
put some zip ties on the strut to see if its bottoming out it'll also show if you need to cut the bump stop.
Suspension is interchangeable. I would recommend switching all 4 corners.
Also if a car is leaning the strut would not cause that. It is caused by the spring. Is it on coilovers? Perhaps raise it up if it is.

Registered in 2002 with my 91 DX hatch that I swapped a ZC into (Never ran really good) . Slid into a curb in the winter and bent the subframe (think thats the problem) and possibly other things. Steering wheel sits crooked when wheels are straight. Buddy backed into me and screwed up hood/fender ect. Kinda lost interest there for a second as I went from a nice clean hatch.. to a mangled beater.
Just spotted this clean CRX and I definately have some catching up to do.
