Like the topic says, who is running a 3" drag muffler and what kind?
I am looking to use a v-band clamp with 2 v-band flanges of course. Does anyone run a megaphone header setup with a drag muffler attached to it, but ends before the rear axle??
TIA

Is there any benefit to running a muffler on a header that has a megaphone attached to it?
I always thought the purpose of running a megaphone was to not have to use any kind of muffler. Interested to hear other opinions...

well i tried a 3" half length system on my drag motor, I back to back dyno'd with an open megaphone and I lost 5-10whp using the exhaust. plus a megaphone cuts about 20lb's out in weight savings..

i would run the 3" muffler with some extra 3" piping for the street attached to the muffler and then open megaphone for the track. But this is an option to stay legal for street class. I forgot if NHRA, IDRC, and BOTI require mufflers for the allmotor street class.

if there isn't a noise restriction then run a 3" pipe to a small muffler and then have a small dump pipe welded to the end of the muffler..

hmph well we have ran mufflers with meg's and reverse cones it just depends on what rules require..
we make a 6" OAL length muffler specifically for classes that require a muffler and there is no DB level
