Default motor swap day

I'm swapping my d15y8 out of my 92 hatch today for a d16z6. Its not my permenant swap just some practice untill i get my k20a2 in january. Since this is my first swap I'm wonderin if anyone has any last minute advice before I get started.

I know I need the ecu but can anyone tell me if I need to snag the harness too. I've noticed the harness in my 92 seems to be prewired for everything that didn't come with my car; Power doors, tweeters, tachometer, sunroof etc. all which I have installed in my uber base model DX.

Just need the ECU, 92s were prewired for Vtec.

This swap(if you really wanna call it that), will be NOTHING in comparison to that K20 swap you wanna do. So the only practice you will get is pulling a stock motor out.

yes i'm aware the k20 is much more serious but I need to start somewhere and I believe this will be a decent way to learn both removal as well as problem troubleshooting after the swap.

thanks for the info though, saves me much time

No prob, I think you may need a vtec solinoid plug too, its just prewired from ECU to the main plugs in the engine bay, so you will need to run wires from the main plug to the sol.

I beleive the ECU sticky above covers all this.
