Sometimes we all need a reminder ..
Saw this on another site .. and i'm speechless. I dunno, just thinking about it, like him putting on each boot .. and his gloves .. and all his gear, in preparation of a fun day of riding, like we all do ... and now the guy is dead. He was a living, breathing human being .. and now his lifeless body is just that ... lifeless.
Please remember ... we're not invincible. I'll be the first to admit .. i've made many stupid, careless mistakes before, but something we all need a reality check like this to put things back into perspective.
This link isn't too graphic (as in gorey), but it is somewhat disturbing. The lady in the car, and the motorcyclist are both dead. RIP

Please ... ride safe .. ride smart. We all have an expiration date, lets let it not be in the near future

I just got back from a fairly spirited ride with my friends and that video definitely makes you realize how fragile life really is. RIP Brother.

i think the worst thing would be the ride home for the rest of his friends. knowing that the stupid thing he did caused the death of himself and an innocent lady.
keep that kind of speed off of public roads, especially where there are intersections

Been thinking of selling my bike lately because i graduated college and my health insurance is running out and progressive wont sell me health insurance in case of accident
Near the end of the video the cops show up. He must have started taping immediately after the accident happened.
Does anyone have an info as to what actually happened?
It looks like the the car either was heading the opposite direction of the bike and pulled a left in front of it, or tried to pull out of the side-street in front of the bike.
It doesn't look to me like excessive speed had anything to do with the accident. But this is all conjecture unless there is an article or write-up or something.

DIdnt watch the vid but in order to kill someone in a car i can only assume excessive speed was involved.
If your doing the speed limit 30-45mph, and someone pulls out in front of you, you usually atleast have enough time to panic and lock the breaks up which means your actually hitting the car at 20-40mph which i wouldnt think would kill someone in a car but i am not educated in moto accidents and anythings possible.

well it didn't kill me .. i think for me or motocycle accidents in general (involving another car), i had the third worst possible scenario, broadsiding a car ... 1st would be head on with a car, 2nd would be being t-boned by a car .. and third would be what happened to me, t-boning a car.
i hit the side somewhere around 25-35, and suffered a broken ankle, torn ligaments, severe head trauma, and a missing chunk of flesh from my hip .. it was bad, but not all that serious from what you would think would happen.
for what happened to this guy, he must have been going 100 at least.
crazy.

Speed exacerbates the results. But it is not a direct cause in the way that failure to yield is a direct cause.
i.e. regardless of the speed of the motorcycle, if the car had yielded, nothing would have happened. Since the car failed to yield, the motorcycle hit the car.

i wish it was that easy .. in my accident, they're claiming i was going 50 in a 35 (from witnesses) .. because of that, i have a negligant 2 driving ticket, and am being blamed for causing the accident when a lady failed to yield to my right away ... because of this, i am in the middle of a lawsuit.
just drive safe guys .. there is a time and place for everything. even if you want to stunt, find an empty parking lot or deserted rode where you only endanger yourself. around where i live, there is literally a motorcycle related death almost every day ... and it hits too close to home.
even after a near death experience from my wreck, i still want to ride and when i hop back on a bike and i dont think i will be scared or weary of them ... but i want to remember it and be a better rider because of it.
keep this shiney side up

One could argue that if he was going slower he could have stopped in time or swerved to miss the car... so speed is, in fact, a direct cause.

Yeah, sure is. He taped the guy, and the lady as well, and no one seems to care. Makes me think they're in Romania or something.
