Strange Fuse box problem.. Starter Issues
So, the car one day just didn't start, no warning, no other issues nothing. Drove it around the block parked it and then 10 minutes later it wouldn't start.
Nothing, no click no whirring, no sound at all. Very Strange. Tried a known good battery I had and still same response. Pulled the starter and bench tested it, works fine. Figure out that there is no starter signal. Nothing happens when I turn the key. So I check the fuses under the hood and the fuses under the dash, they're all fine. Still no signal, so there must be a short between the ignition and the starter. I finally trace it down to the under dash fuse box. Good signal goes in, no signal comes out. I check all the fuses again, they're all fine. So.. I bypass the starter signal wire past the fuse box. Then the car starts fine.
So, my question is, how the hell does a fuse box go bad? Should I buy a new one? Anybody have a known working used one cheap?

thanks, anyhelp would be appreciated. Forgot, to mention, I've been having some issues with my headlights too, had to switch them to use the high beam circuit. It may be the same issue with the fuse box.
Thanks

Before driving yourself crazy, make sure you didn't lose the clutch interlock switch stopper. Look around on the floorboard below your pedals and see if there's some crumbled plastic bits down there. For whatever reason, there's been a rash of these little plastic stoppers going bad lately - could be a combination of the heat and the fact that the plastic is 15 years old now... I had to replace the one on my brake pedal (the one that tells the brake lights to turn on when the pedal is depressed) about a year ago, and just a few months ago the one on the clutch pedal went out. They're the same part number, and run about $3 at the dealership.
The one on the clutch pedal is kind of hard to see; it's ABOVE the pivot point for the pedal.
You're in Austin - hit me up if you need a hand with it.

do you guys really know what the problem is? Because my civic is doing that too. Every fuse is doing fine but it would start or crank at all. Mines happen like crx7s too. let me know.
