Sagging ass of Ep3 and random noises
I have a couple questions about my susp.
After my car has been sitting for bout 10 mins after a drive the suspension sounds off like a bell. A loud "dong" sound. Should I be worried about this?
When im going over small bumps at slow speed the susp. squeeks a lot. What could be causing this?
Lastly the rear of the car sits a lot lower then the front. No matter how much i adjust the ride height its still bout 1.5 inches lower then my fronts. They have always been like this and have always made the bell sound. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What setup are you running? I'm not sure how it would be possible to adjust the rear ride height, and it still be lower than the front.

So after driving, coming home and sitting there, your suspension starts making noise? Are you sure it's not your engine / exhaust cooling? That can make quite a racket, and can sound like a bell.

It's bushings. I'm not sure what your setup is, but the most common culprit would be the swaybar if you don't have any poly. If you do have poly bushings, they need to be lubed.

It comes from the rear of the car and the driver side.. the exhaust is on the passenger side. The ride height is like that i think because the springs are too soft in the back.. My setup is the Tein Basic full coil over system.
Thats funny as ****, i need a good laugh out here in iraq. i wanna say exhaust to, just because it sounds like its from the other side dosent mean its not exhaust. Does it only make one single Dong?? Or does it make a few dongs? If you get a buddy to shake the car with you can you make it dong again? Crawl under their with the new issue on HT and a flash light and wait for it to dong. I wanna say you might have an install issue seem to be having more problems than just this dong. If you want your dong to go away you need to just go buy Koni/GC they dont dong. Has it done this dong the whole time you have had the suspension or did the dong just start donging? Have you even looked under their to see if you can see an issue?? Damn i love saying dong alot, this must be an HT dong record. also people need to stop bitching about little squeekes in their poly bushings, seriously you knew they were gonna squeek when you put them in!! if it gets real bad grease them, its not rocket science. Use the right grease thought.

Well, I'd check the shocks. I had the AGXs on for less than a year, on Eibach Pro-Kits (which KYB specifically says they can handle) and they were blown to ****; less than 30K. After that, I'd pull your swaybar and lube the bushings with Marine Grease. If you're still squeaking, I'd make sure the GCs are properly seated in the top hat, because the rubber gasket can squeak if it's not in there properly.

Spring rate or not, when you raise the rear ride height, the rear should go up. Either wlay, the basics are really not that great, but the springrate shouldn't have anything to do with your problem. When the car is down, the springs are compressed, and when you raise the collar, the height should go up when the car is lowered again, becasue the springs will compress an almost identical amount.
As far as the dong, I don't know what to tell you. I've never heard a suspension make any noise while a car was just sitting there. I think you need to investigate a little more.
