Default Hit my Type-S =(

Damn, i was driving in arrow crest canyon in L.A. Was trying to push the car to its limits... And in one turn i went in about 75 mph.. started loosing traction badly, and then made a major rookie mistake! I tapped a brake a few times instead of downshifting and accelerating out of the turn, which caused me to completly loose the control of the car and drifted right into the barrier! SUCKS.. Damage is not too bad, but i could have died if it wasn't for that metal raod barrier!

Let this be a lesson....Save the "spirited" driving for the track/auto-x. You not only could have killed yourself, but also innocent other drivers sharing the roads with you.

Your mistake wasn't hitting the brake in the turn. The mistake was going into the turn too hot. You overpowered the tires ability to turn in, so they slipped. Had you downshifted, you'd do the same exact thing. It's simple. Check it: you're on 4 solid rubber patches as you go straight. Now you turn left, shifting the car's weight to the two right tires. Next, you brake or downshift (in the turn) and the weight is now transfered to the front right tire. So now, you're trying to complete a turn on one tire alone! Unfortunately, the other three are just along for the ride. That's not good for anyone involved.

High Performance Driving School - the best mod you can make. It's too bad that most people on the board are into HP mods, when ultimately they should be into driver mods. Nothing pays off as well as tweaking the "steering wheel seatback connector!"

Glad you're ok. Keep it 'tween the ditches from now on.

The stock tires are just **** to begin with. I've always had traction problems with them. Nothing major though. I had to deflate them. I'm running about ~20PSI +- 3psi. Much better traction.

You will still crash with your new tires, but at a higher speed.

You are like "Oh shxx, I crashed my car, my car's handling sucks, I should get a ferrari." Just learn your lesson and keep it off the street.

good lookin on the accident, it sucks and all and your insurance goes up.. but the only way to learn how to drive is by doing it, which obviously a few others on this board don't enjoy.. only problem is you'll drive like a grandmother for a few weeks and crawl around turns.. after that you should know a bit more from experience and if you still have *****.. you'll be better then you were before

Your totaly right, i am driving like a grandmother when i enter turns, but its getting better... And to answer the other post above, I never blaimed the car for what happened.. It was my fault, i even said it in my first post.. I took it beyond its limits... and i made a bigger mistake by breaking in the middle of the turn... I only said if i had better tires maybe i could have recovered but i doubt it... It was totally my mistake, and btw i ******* hate ferrari Those tires look sweet, i was thinking about getting 50's tho, and changing my rims to 17 or 18?? what do you guys think???

First off... you trying to sell those?? I'll buy em!! Also, normally when your in a slide dont you want to clutch it so you dont have power to your wheels (thus letting you have traction on at least 2?) Its just what I've been doing and it works good for me!
