burn outs on drag radials
I know your not suppose to use water box with threaded street tires but can you use it with drag radials. being that drag radials still having threads on them?
I do when I am at the track on my Nitto 555r drag radials. I basically treat them like they are slicks. They hook much better at lower tire pressure and when they are really hot.
When you pull into the box, don't sit with your tires in the center of the puddle. Drive through to get the tires wet, but start the burnout on the far side. If you put the tires right in the water and start spinning them, you'll throw water up into the wheelwells, which will then drip on the tires as you pull forward and get the launch pad wet. I've even seen guys get DQ'ed and backed off the line because it looks like the car is leaking something from all the water they picked up and dragged forward from the box.
roll threw the box spin them a bit to clean the rocks off at the end of the box. stop
pull you e brake up put it in second rev it up pop the clutch or slip the clutch however u want to, start you burn out till there is a good bit of smoke goin let the ebrake go and keep the burn out goin for another 5-10 feet. pull to the line pre stage stage go
