Default The Immovable NSX not Clutch Related

Remember back a few years ago (it seems) when I blew my clutch? Turns out that I broke an axle. Clutch is fine. Tilton carbon ships tomorrow.

Ever cry while laughing or laugh while crying? I have.

LOL ahahahah

How the hell did you manage to break a drive shaft?

To late to stop the shipping? I think I would rather pay the restocking fee on that one.

I dunno that either. My vendor isn't responding to my quieries any more. I found out the ship date in a round about manner. I'd like the clutch anyway...maybe I'll sell the Exedy. My mechanic says the clutch looks great! Hahahaha...hilarious!

Did you notice beforehand whether your axle nuts had loosened, as described here?

I can't say that I looked beforehand but I know of that particular issue and did as much preventitive maintenance as possible. I'll ask my mechanic to take a look.

It's funny, the car displayed a classic case of a clutch being toasted. Everything except the smell...live and learn.

Oh and I broke the front and rear motor mounts too. Frick. Found solid replacements from a good guy in Houston.

Then my mechanic tells me I have a lot of play in the right front knuckle. $700 bones from the factory. $548 from Goodson. Frick frick.

Tilton clutch is nowhere to be found. No ETA update. No nothing. Frick frick frick.

You've heard all the warnings and you want us to feel sorry for you?
Hopefully someday it comes.

Fairly bad. The individual mount holes are surrounded by rubber which was cracked on each opposite end. Actually, only one mount (the rear) was cracked like that. The front was replaced b/c the rear was replaced as well.

Hey, kiss my brown starfish.

Actually, your observation is exactly correct. But since it was my first time at the drag strip and being fairly ignorant of that whole side of the racing community, I'm giving myself some leeway. The knuckle wear, OTOH, comes as the car ages - can't help that.

No sympathy wanted. Just expressing mild discontent. I figure it's better than expressing it at work, with friends, or worse yet - with my family. The clutch pack will come. Someday.

Last I heard, it was Tilton. They are having some difficulty in getting the carbon material for the carbon plates. That was last I heard. The clutch pack that was going out was actually for someone else.

The lack of communication is very frustrating. Hope you get it soon.

I waited 6 months before I ever heard back on my clutch. I was dealing directly wit centerforce. The service guy they had died and the people at Centerforce completely ignored all of his customers. When they finally did contact me, they were horrible to deal with. They really lost a good employee because the person they had really knew how to take care of his customers.
