Went down the other day :(
All I gotta say is this blows. So as most of you know I got the bike on Saturday, went down on Wednesday. However in those 5 days I smashed in 230 miles of riding so I got some good times out of it before it happened.
So here's how it happened. Me and my friend were riding around town, me on my ZX-6 and him on his mom's Rebel 450, and decided to hit up some backroads. He let me lead cause he had been leading most of the day and we go to this road that I know pretty well. First right hander we come to I slow down to about 30 mph and then hold steady on the throttle. Well, the pavement is really worn down and slippery and I lowsided at 30 mph. I slid about 30 feet on my knee, shoulder and face and the only part that was unprotected was my knee, I had on my TZ-1 jacket, SP-1 gloves, and HJC helmet and jeans just cause I don't have full leathers yet.
And of course, this all happens the week before I get frame sliders. I end up on my back in the grassy field across the street and my bike is about 5 feet from me. I look up and Luke went down too. When he saw me eat it he freaked and grabbed the front brake and just fell over. I ripped off my helmet and gloves, made sure I was okay, Luke got back up and came to see if I was ok. There was about a 4 inch rip in my jeans and I'm missing about a 1/4 inch of skin from my kneecap and it's huge and swollen, my shoulder is bruised, my left knee is rashed a little bit and my left calf muscle is bruised.
We got my bike up and off the side of the road again, my plastics are scratched and cracked up by my windscreen, my blinker shattered, and my rear brake lever broke off and my footpeg broke too. All in all, I'm okay, I learned something and I'm glad I didn't wreck doing something stupid. Also, I need some new parts and need to know where to find them. I'm also debating whether to fix the plastics or streetfighter it cause I love streetfighters. It's a future poll, keep your eyes open. Thanks for reading.
CLIFF NOTES: Went down, I'm ok just a little fuqed up, bike is a little fuqed up but I need a new rearset and possibly new plastics. Thinking of streetfightering.

You're a brand new rider right? Its good that you had an older bike for this to happen to you on. It happens to all of us man, you need to think about what really caused it and what you need to do differently next time. It will be ok, get back on that bike as soon as you can.. remember being in the powerband is your friend while leaning into a turn.

It's not a really busy road but its been patched a few times and everyone rips around it in their cars so the pavement is really worn and has that shiny, rubbery look to it. I came off a new patch and hit the old, worn pavement and lowsided.
Like I said, I'm glad I didn't do it doing something stupid but I did learn that I need to slow down just a bit around especially tight corners. Tada, lesson learned
However, I am peeved that it happened the week before my frame sliders get here. I'm doing a lot better though, I can walk pretty normally now and my other little rashes are almost healed up. And I plan on riding again as soon as I get a new right side rearset and seeing as how I dont have $320 for Sato's, anyone know where I can get stock stuff?? Thanks for all the concern and advice guys.
