Default Lowered the Accord, now to choose tire size

Gf's 96 Accord. We just lowered it on Neuspeed Sport Springs and Koni Red "adjustables" ( I say this cuz I have no clue how to adjust them and they are pretty bouncy)

Anyways, Stopping and gripping issues need to be addressed. The current tires are good, they are essentially brand new.

But I wanna throw on a set of Falken's or Hankook's but I wanted to know, should I go for a lower profile on the 15's? I looked on tires.com and plus zero is actually a taller tire but skinnier width? I wanted to go wider and lower. I'm thinking 195/55(or 50)/15's. Recommendations?

And any help with the Koni's would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Well, doing some reading and it says that Koni red's are not adjustable but the person I bought it from said they are http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT The ride is really bouncy and it kinda scares me cuz I was driving behind my gf the day we picked up the car and was watching her take a corner and the car was bouncy during the turn, I almost thought she wasn't gonna make it. I also need to get an alignment and probably camber kits.

i still roll 65 sidewall when i have winter tires on...I'm dropped pretty low on tein coilovers...55 might make her sit pretty low, thatll be alot smaller overall diameter, keep that in mind

So then I should just stick with the 195/60/15's? I'm just afraid that the 65's will rub. She's low enough that I think it might.

you won't rub...trust me

http://www.hondasociety.net/up...3.JPG

thats me dropped on 205-40-18s...they end up being bigger in overall diameter than the 195-65-15s, and i'm pretty low on em...no rubbing ever for me

What suspension set-up do you have? I have Neuspeed sports with Koni Red's and it bounces all over the place. So then I can go 195/60/15? But should I get a lower profiler for better looks and maybe a bit better handling or is that irrelevant?

I'm not too concerened about the looks, the bigger tire fills more of the gap. Less sidewall would look lower profile. I just haven't really tried it, don't care all that much....they are my winter tires

I have Tein HA coilovers.

I am not sure which type of tires would help to calm down the bounciness of the suspension though

Yea, more sidewall would fill in the gap though there isn't any right now lol. I just don't want it to rub that's all. I guess I'll go with the 195/60's and if it rubs then try to find a body shop to roll the fenders.

dude.. what lip kit do you have on your car? that looks very very VERY sweet. i love it.

back to topic.
just in case if anybody might ever wonder.. 35 series tires on 18's are almost identical in height to stock accord 15's/stock tires.

lol, no, you can get like a finger maybe finger 1/2 in there. It's got negative camber right now and needs an alignment. I just wanna figure out why it bounces so much. Bu tI think I'm gonna stick with the 195 tires.

i dont know if you really want new tires, but wider tires will help you to handle better so thats one thing to try and sway your opinion.

Plus Zero is actually wider tread and smaller sidewall. +0 of 195/60R15 is 205/55R15...being two tenths smaller of overall diameter.

205/55R15 is my planned setup on the 7 spoke 94-95 Accord EX rims.

Added: Go here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

It even tells you how much your speedo will be off........

I'm afraid that width will cause the car to rub.

205s won't rub. I did have 215/45R17s and they DID rub when heavily loaded. And btw, I'm dropped two inches.
