Default Emissions in Colorado

I just recently moved to Colorado to go to school and was wondering how they do emissions here. my car is not running right now but when it is how do i go about gettin it inspected. how is the safety inspection here. my car will definately not pass emissions and it is swapped will i have any trouble with that as well? also lookin for some car events in the Boulder/Denver area cuz i have not met anyone into cars yet especially Hondas

sucks that you guys have to worry about emissions, we only have emissions tests on cars newer than 10 years

so no matter what i do to mine, it wouldnt matter. good luck passing man

i moved to colorado (on military orders) from socal and smogged my b18b powered coupe out here and it passed just fine not to mention it was an obd1 motor swapped into an obd2 chassis. as far as inspections, emissions is the only one you have to deal with every 2 years

I live here and have passed four swaped civics
1991 with 93 b18a swithced to odb0
1991 with 90 b18a
1993 with jdm b16 ( and EG6 cluster that was fun to watch took them 5 tries)
1996 with a crazy hybrid y8 bottom end with d16z6 head odb2~1 wiring hardwired o2 sensor straight to the ecu ( a frickin nightmare)
Why are you so worried about passing?

nope, they just check to see if there was a cat....thats pretty much it.....i was stressin when they plugged into the obd2 scanner, but they passed it anyway since the car passed the sniffer test

I hate you guys....dont even have to worry about being pulled over with a motor that doesn't belong in your car. Wish California was like that.....

If you can register the car outside city limits you dont have to pass a sniffer test. If you do have to pass it consists of tailpipe and visual. Visual they look for a cat, and well....thats about it.

find an address outside city limits you can register your car at, thats the best way.

And as far as engine swaps go, if its a honda motor in a honda they wont notice.

Not sure about boulder county actually and they are most likely dicks about it. I have mine registered in Weld county outside city limits. They asked no questions at all. Of course if you registered yours in weld you would have to renew in weld, might be a PITA.

I would just try to emissions test it and see what happens. If it doesn't miss or anything and has no CEL's you would pass. They dont hook anythign up except a tach and stick a think in your tailpipe. They wouldn't know if the engine is stock or not.
