Default Engine swap plan

Ok so I've come to a decision and Im going to get a JDM H22A but Im also getting some bolt ons. Im not looking for a ton of power just something with a little more punch than stock with a budget of $3000-$4000. I think the JDM's Ive seen are around $2000-$2500. Here's my plan so far:

Skunk2 or OBX Intake Manifold
68mm Throttle Body(not sure of brand)
Greddy Headers

I already have a cold air intake system (AEM V2) and a cat back system(not sure which one bought the car w/ it on). Any changes?

i would say no to the manifold and throttle body, the the greddy header is a nice start though. get some nice cams instead and get them dyno tuned. trust me you will be much happier with the tuned cams...

OBX is **** I say. A few of my friends had some OBX parts and really hated them. A GReddy header will really open up an H22 and IMO a throttle body really won't do much until you get inside of the motor. A nice set of cams and maybe a pnp headjob will put out more power than an intake manifold and throttle body. Also you might want to consider a V-AFC. I bought mine for 100 bucks off of a friend's 99 that he's turboing. Best 100 bucks I've spent I believe. I even heard of some people getting 10-15WHP from a dyno tuned V-AFC.

I'll second that.

I think you are making a good decision to get the H22. Get one with a LSD tranny too!!!

Do what I did. First find out how much the following will cost because these things SHOULD be done before you swap it into your car:
-Replace ALL the seals and gaskets you can.
-Replace the clutch (light weight flywheel if you can afford it)
-Hondata Intake manifold gasket. (I don't think a bolt-on H22 needs an aftermarket intake manifold)
-New (rebuilt) axles.
-H23 manual timing conversion
-Water pump and timing belt (I changed my oil pump too)
-Engine mounts

If you have any money left over, a header is probably the next thing I would get. It's easy to change the header even if the engine is installed too.
