Default how to tell a jdm ys1 apart from a us spec ys1

I am about to purchase a ys1 tranny for my 90 da teg...If anyone knows how to tell the difference between the us spec ones and the jdm ones.I want to get the shorter geared one from japan but don't know how to tell them apart without taking them apart...I was hoping someone would know a quick way to tell them apart....I know there is some ys1 trannies from the us that have ls gearing and don't want to buy one that has the same gears as my stock tranny...

The USDM YS1 will have a white sticker w/ black writing and barcode. The JDM ones have a goldish sticker w/ black writing.

Go to 4k on one if your only at 70mph, its the shorter ration GSR version of the YS1

there ies really no way to tell which one it is.... unless u drive a car with the tranny ... or if u crack open the case and count the final drive teeth i have a b17 ys1 tranny and it is short geared... i think i sit a 55mph at 3300 rpm.. or somthing like that... with a ls you would sit at 55mph at 2500 or so..

According to Acura, ALL US spec 90-93 Teg trannies have the same gears [RS, LS, GS, GSR are ALL the same]. If you want shorter gears get the JDM S1 tranny.

all except the us spec ys1 gsr b17a which has the shorter gears and 4.4 final drive gear....but they also made the ys1 for rs/ls/gs 92-93 with long gears.....

yes there is a difference in the trannies..... cause i have both of them.... i bought a 92 gsr and i messed up 2nd gear.. so i purchased anothery ys1 and the gears were a lot diff.. plus if you would like,, go to honda/acura and get them to see if any other gears from any other tranny made matches the b17 ys1 tranny and i can bet u money that they will tell u that there is no tranny that has the same gear ratio.... and i have fixed my b17 ys1 tranny and i assure u that they are diff... and the tranny is almost as rare as the motor is..... thats why u dont hear much about them....
