Default painted wheels... now i need them re-balanced

i just got done painting my wheels and to do so i removed all the weights that were put on..now i know this might sound stupid but what im really worried about is them scratching them all up when they re-balance them because i see how carelessly they do their work... whats the worst that could happen if i dont get them re-balanced?

Worst that can happen? Dont know bout worst but for sure when you're driving it in in a certain speed, the steering wheel will shake. Which could cause an accident if you're going pretty fast. Thats just my opinion.

they shake. And they can be bad for gas mileage. You wouldn`t notice it until 65+ normally
