Default throttle body compatiblity with aebs manifold

I have a aebs manifold on my b16a with b16a tb and it ran fine. Then i put a 95? ls throttle body on it and the idle is stuck at 2g with no vaccum leaks. NOw i noticed a few of the ports are different?

As anybody got this combinatino to work?

Its mainly those two ports on the bottom, which i'm guessing are for the fitv that the b16a tb doesnt have (grimy one)

is it a 1st gen b16 or something? that prolly has nothing to do with. The gasket doesn't look like a honda gasket, though. Hond gaskets are bigger and stronger.

try using a honda 99-00 SI gasket. Or an LS.

oh yeah isn't a fast idle thermo valve on the IM in the 1st gen b16s? As upposed on TB in all the other models.

And why are you switching TBs anyways? If it works don't touch it. Same diameter isn't it?

The motor and old tb were b16a's obd0

b16a's DO have the fitv on the manifold rahter than tb, so thats why i had to switch to this ls tb. Cold starts = teh suk

The b16 was 58mm, and the ls was 60 + 4

yeah get a new gasket, that's defently a wrong gasket for that TB. It's not even supposed to be that color, and usually it's more square and way stronger. That thing just looks flimsy.

How did you check for vacuume leaks?

try propane, carb cleaner can't get in some spots. And even if it does it will be in small amounts and you won't be able to feel it.

WEll i dont hear any leaks either, and since ppl are saying i am using the wrong tb gasket, i'm trying to address that first. I wanted to see a pic of an 94+teg gasket to see if its something i can cut out to make it work.

The gasket you are using is too small, It doesn't cover the FITV
99-00 SI

91 SI not b16 but still the same shape

See the difference on the bottom now???

Just get the gasket.

a 2k idle is high, must be a moderate leak....

get the TB gasket that matches your TB... bring it to the dealer if you have to, its only 5bux for a new one

Yea, the dealership around here sucks though and has to "order" everything, bunch of ******* incompetents.

I was just wondering, i dont know how accurate that diagram is, but it looks like that gasket is just cut down lower where that fitv thing is, so i was wondering i could just cut a chunk out. But i dont see why i twould matter if i cut i tout, cause there no port in the manifold there. So its either a gasket or the mani, no opening either way.

holy ****. Dude order the damn gasket. Can't you clearly see that there are to HUGE openings on the bottom of the LS TB for the FITV??????

I cant do **** till 8am tomorrow morning. In the meantime i'm just trying to figure this out. The only difference i see is the notch in the bottom of that ls gasket. I could cut that notch in it to trace the ftiv opening if your saying thats the only difference. Then for peace of mind get my car running tonight, go tomorrow to get a new gasket and then throw it in. Reason i'm bugging ic ause i'm suppose to get it dyno tuned on friday and i'm running out of time. I coudl sleep much better tongiht knowing thats the problem and i just need the right gasket.

Apparently i had the wrong tb gasket. I couldnt get the right one in time so i just used rtv sealant in the meantime.

I thought there was a problem wiht mani cause it only had one port on it where the oem one had 2.

But it works fine Throttle body gasket MUST match tb
