Default H.I.D's in OEM JDM NON-H.I.D headlights

ok ok, i kno that the HID headlights are way diff projectors than the NON hids, but anyways i heard you can modify the NON hids by taking that strip out of the Projectors and making the Hids brighter..iono..btw my headlights point to the ground, i try to adjust it but that doesnt work to good, anyone have any suggestions on making my NON-hid projectors so that the lights actually work, other than buying retrofited projectors, i also searched threads on this but ppl are not self explanatory, or have no ideas. im a stunna.

I had to get pretty low to the ground to take the picture of the HIDs to the point where it gets "bright"

No, its not.

Click the below link and read.
http://www.hidplanet.com/forum...=3505

HID's in Hallogen projectors are illegal in the US, so are HID kits. If you want HID's get some e55 projectors and retrofit them into the projector slots in the Integra, it takes bearly any work at all.

More info check out http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/

PS and the reason you had to get so low was because it blinds you, does it not? Well it also blinds on-coming cars too.

You tried adjusting using those ***** ryte. I used to have Non-Hid JDM headlights and didnt do any retrofit and it pointed fine. All I did was just adjust the ***** till the beams look straight and point to the ground.

can you still adjust the vertical and hortizontal position of the headlights after the retrofit?

With regards to legalities, putting HIDs into a car that didnt come with it stock is "illegal". So both ways you're still breaking the law. Of course though, output from OEM HID shouldnt glare, so it's unlikely you would be pulled over.

But thats besides the point. I want to see pics of your cutoff. Head on shots of HID dont tell you anything.

You're a moron. And not, its not illegal to place HID's in cars in the manner of a retro-fit. The projectors, bulbs, and ballist are(well should be) all approved by the DMV... so it is legal.

modifying factory headlights is illegal isn't it? regardless of oem or not...

edit: i also noticed that the retrofit is on your "to-do" list... have you done a retrofit before? and how do you know it's "barely" any work? lol...

While we at this, does anyone have a picture of non-hid light on? I just order a non-hid front and want to see how bright they are compare to USDM round ones.

Thanks for calling me a moron. I have been a member of HIDPlanet since that forum started. In fact, I was a member of hidforum.com, the precursor to that site. It got hacked by Islamic fundamentalists I think.

See, claiming that "reading is power" doesn't really mean anything if you cant even do it yourself. Because if you had actually read anything on the forum, you would have seen this thread....

Check out what the moderator Haknslash said....
"Slow down guys. I'll sum it up for you. If you open and modify your headlights, its illegal because you have no way to verify to the NHSTA or a way to get it DOT certified that they can comply with the current lighting requirements and standards no matter how good the retro is. "

i too have been a member of hidplanet.com since it was hidforum and if u read even the faq's ull find out that indeed, modifying any OEM headlight is illegal - retrofit or not. the benefits of a retrofit are a wider, more evenly distributed beam pattern with a sharp cuttoff - not legality. a set of integra non-hid projectors with an hid kit will not blind oncoming traffic if properly aimed downward (unlike civics or accords). the problem is, even wit hids the non-hid projectors make for a poor light distribution. u make some good points (i.e. retrofit is better), but prolly shouldnt insult people wen u dont have the facts straight urself.

in short, any state statute regarding the operation of motor vehicles WILL tell you that any modification of the vehicle to alter it from the specs of the manufacturer can be and will be determined illegal by such said law enforcement agencies. Don't believe me? .....next time you see a cop....go ask him or her. Think this is bullshit? Of course. Hell....even LOWERING YOUR CAR is illegal!!!!! And please....don't USE the excuse of "well cops have NEVER pulled me over before." That is the lamest and weakest argument you can use...but I do dare you to try using that on a judge if you decide to take a ticket for illegal mods to court to fight it However...with that said....depending on the mod...if its just light bulb changes ( as long as it follows the states statutes regarding the operation of motor vehicles ) you can get away with it.

I agree. A little something to add to this thread since it has been missed. Regardless of how you re-aim the lights, if you plan on retrofitting your housings, make sure you get the housings from a vehicle that was assembled LHD!!! The reason I say that is because if you get the housing from a vehicle that is RHD, no matter how you aim it, you'll still end up blinding oncoming traffic. I know this from experience as I have the JDM OEM HID lights on my teg. I aimed them all the way to the right as possible....but it still only ended up being pointed straight forward with no notion of it being capable of going any further to the right. The beams....lowered to the point where when compared to that of an evo 8...the cut off was slightly lower when both cars were parked 25 ft away from the garage doors..but it still tends to get me the high beam flash from people coming the other way. So yea...try and get the housings for LHD vehicles if possible. That way ( in theory ) you should be able to aim it properly.
