Default Rear wing options?

As some of you guys know, I am running in this years Targa Newfoundland Targa class. We are two weeks out, and nearly everything is done. I spoke with a fellow competitor last night who is a 2 year veteran running a Civic and he says that we absolutely need some sort of rear downforce. He claims the back end of Integras and Civics is all over the place over crests. I have never had this issue, but then again, I have never driven race-pace speeds through Newfoundland. I have a home made 'glass and plywood splitter I use or track events, but I thought it would get damaged at an event like the Targa. So my question is, do you think the handling will be unbalanced with a rear wing and no splitter? Should I take the chance and bring a splitter or two? FWIW, the car is essentially an ITS car aside from the 380 whp turbo motor and a few other bits. I plan to run the car in Honda Challenge and IT next season (sans turbo). At any rate, input would be greatly appreciated!
