Default Need help in Engine swap..

Hey guys,

I got a Honda Civic 1992 with ZC DOHC manual 5 speed.

I want to swap it with a B16A engine.. I read here and there and they all say direct bolt on.. What puts a big " ? " over my head is Ok the engine will fit but do I need to replace the gear box or will the ZC gear box fit.
And do I need a new wiring harness or the one it has will fit..

This civic HB will be a my track racing car if this is going to help it is a 20th aniversary speacial eddition it has calliper front and rear and it's a JDM spec meaning it's RHD.. .. I will post pix of it latter on and how the project is going on but for now I need answers please..

its direct botl on if you have the right mounts

also you will need a tranny from any B motor

you will need to add vtec wires if it doesnt have any , knock sensor and if it was a single or 5 wire o2 sensor you will need to convert it to 4wires

also look at the faq up top and use the search next time

Thank for your reply Komat..

I did some research only to get more confused.. I really can't undrestand this..
Well have a look at this website..
http://www.jspecautosports.com...id=17

(92-95 Honda Civic) The one I have is a 92 EG they said for B16A Direct bolt-in swap. Meaning I remove my engine put in that engine+gearbox and replace the ECU with the B16A ECU but leave the wiring harness alone.. Is that what they mean by direct bolt on.. Another thing their are like 4 or 5 different engine in this type of civic how do they know I have a twin cam ZC engine..

See that's why I am confused and in need of help..

Thanks in advance.

to put the b16 in you need b16 motor mounts for a civic, (ebay) b16 wireing harness (so you dont need to cut wires, just plug it up) and the ecu for the motors year, well generation anyhow. thats the easiest way to do it.

Hey lessDXHB

Well that is my biggest problem.. I can't find any place locally that sells the B16A wireing harness.. They all sell the engine and gearbox.. No ECU or Wiring harness. The ECU I can get an aftermarket one.. But no wiring harness.. I found few places on the net that sells a conversion harness.. From OBD0 to OB1 and so on .. will that work.. I think the one I have is OBD1 and I think the B16A is either OBD1 or OBD2 so if it is one can I use the one on the car if not should I just get the conversion harness..

Thanks I know for some of you people this is logic but this swap honda thing is very very strange for me.. Hope you can be patient with me thanks..

PS: Will post pix of my Racing Integra GSR and the current running project civic very soon..

honestly, just go on ebay and search for b16 harness. and just do it like that. so there is not jumpers or anything.
