Default dash harness

im kind of new to wiring so i got a few questions for u guys..
are the dash harness' between the crx and civic hatch interchangable?
if so do the years have to match? or can it be like from a 90 crx to my 91 civic?
also do the models have to match? lets say im trying to use one from an si on my dx....will it work?
i also have a clock...if the harness i buy does not have a clock plug can i wire one in from my old one?

dont worry about the clock wire missing cuz its there even if your car didnt come with a clock and as far as i know from year to year the harnesses are the same but from CRx to Civic i dont know.

I have a dash harness from a 88 STD i can sell to you for very cheap if you want.

yeah peter at rywire was telling me that the civic crx dash harness is not compatable...he was also saying to get it year matching...so i dont know if that is just a recommendation or if it is a necessity...i know that the 88 wire harness will not work but if the 88 dash harness will work then i will take it off ur hands...

As far as I can remember the civic to crx harness will not work and vice versa. but some of them will interchange. For instance : 88-89 will work in either an 88 or 89 and 90-91 will work in a 90 or 91.

i know for a fact that the interior harness from 88-91 civic hb are exactly the same wires wise, they have the same number and are the same color, but i dont know about the dash.

is the dash and console different on the 88-89 than the 90-91?
because if all the plug locations are in the same place or close i dont see why it wouldnt work...i just dont dont know enough about wiring yet to make decision myself...so im trying to get input from everyone
