Default EGR in a 4th gen?

Do I have an EGR in my '93 Vtec? If so, is installing a blocking plate a good idea?

Yes, you have a egr valve. Its right next to where the fuel line meets the rail.

Blocking it off is up to you, i can say that it did solve my "stalling after reaching operating temp" issue.

What are you planning to acheive by blocking it off?

Thats KMS' website - they have an EGR blocking plate - or you can make your own.

I don't know. I've never had a car w/ an EGR system before, so I don't know. From what I understand, it re-circulates exhaust gases into the intake in an attempt to re-burn the air and create less emissions. But...I don't need to worry about emissions testing where I live , and I figure it would make my car run a little less lean--and probably a little better.

I don't have this problem, but the car does have 136K on it, so maybe it'll make my old-*** engine run a little easier.

I wouldn't worry about it. The valve stays closed under WOT, so it won't hurt performance at all. I didn't hook mine up during my swap (running chipped p28 that won't control egr), and didn't get the block off plate. I just didn't plug in the sensor, and I haven't had any problems. But with a p13 ecu and no egr, you'll have a cel (code 12), that is virtually impossible to get rid of. You really have nothing to gain by taking it out.
