Removing the Trunk Solenoid ?
i sold my old 95 LS, using the money toward a nice gsr or maybe a prelude. in any case, i had a trunk pop installed with my clifford, and i'd like to take the solenoid to put it in my new car, maybe save a few bucks rather than get a new one. anyone know how i'd go about this, or maybe have a webpage that'll help me along? thanks
That's gonna be hard to say.....you have to know where they put it when it was installed. Chances are it's somewhere simple like in the foot liner area where your trunk release is....or somewhere in that area.
Most of these guys are just basic alarm/radio installers and can only access things in that area. Think about what body pieces are pulled up during a radio install, and just look under there. Pull them up and look. It's gotta be right there somewhere.

It's basically a cylindrical object....well most of the time it is.
Have you ever done a stereo install in your car? When you run wires back and forth from your trunk area you have to go thru the foot liner (near where the trunk release/gas cap release) is.
You basically just pull it up, it's held in by clips. Pop your trunk and look in the plastic liner on the sides. It is attached with plastic clips, just unclip it and pull it off.
Give it a try....it's pretty easy. Good luck.
