Default Need help picking some nice DRs!!!

Hey guys, need some help! PLZ!

Its been a while since I ran my car and its pretty slow. Best I've seen it run was 13.9 w/ a 2.29 60ft. Car is pretty consistant running low 14s (2.4+ 60ft; Yes I need to practice), but can't hit 13s constantly. That was on 17" rims w/ toyo fz4 tires (I know, they blow or I suck at driving).

I make 250hp and 225tq. My set-up is:

Stock b20b (Rev limit 7k)
GSR tranny
t3/t04b DRAG turbo kit w/ upgrades, tuned on Hondata (Not that it matters)

I need to find a set of nice Drag Radials...preferrable BFGs. I've heard a lot of good stuff. What I don't want to do is have to shift into 5th gear!!! I hate that and it seems like it slows me down everytime I shift (slow shifter ).

I read a few threads, but its all about slicks. Just need to know what size DRs I should get. They are going on some 15" ls stocks.

I was thinking the same, but someone PM'd me and told me to get 215/60-14. Would the tire be wider then a 225? The height would be a little high for me too I think, 24.5". I was thinking 23.X would be better because of the GSR tranny gearing.

@ 7K in 4th on those you'll be able to trap 110mph. Best choice for your setup as well IMO.

So far the highest I've seen w/ my traps are around 100mph +/- 1 or 2

225/50/15 = 112.5mm
215/60-14 = 129mm
i hope that helps, clarify wich is wider! the 14" tire will eat up some of your mph, because of the contact patch and the height of the tire. but that also means, that it will be a harder tire for you to brake loose(wheel spin)!

112.5 and 129 mm are the respective sidewall heights and have nothing to do with contact patch (not taking into consideration rim width). The 225/50-15 is wider than the 215/60-14.

i think thats exactly what he was trying to explain. he means that by having a taller sidewall the tire will give more before it breaks traction. im in the same situation now. i have some 225/50/15 but they are bald as **** and the best 60 ft i could get was a 2.1 and that was with 15 psi of air pressure and a second gear burn out. next tire i get will probbaly be something shorter because i want to keep the gearing a little tighter than it is now. that or ill get a final drive and keep the taller tire, still not sure.

I was reading and checking out some specs. I went on tire rack and checked out the specs on the the BFGs and found a tire size that had an overall 23" diameter, which was 205/50-15. i then used

http://autocrossing.com/cgi-bin/gearcalc.cgi

pluged in my gsr tranny, tire diamteter, and max rpm. it come up that my max speed @ 7k in 4th would be 105, which is around my trap speed. from what i heard times can change, but traps dont. is it true?
