Dying Interior Black 96-00 Civic
I know this has been discust many, many, many times before but I can't seem to get a striaght answer out of any of it. I have a '96 Civic Hatchback CX which unfortuantly came with a Type F interior color which is light grey. I used to have a '00 Hatchback with the Type F dark grey interior, that I could handle. The reason why I am wanting to dye the interior is becuase I have a CTR Steering wheel, CTR door panels, CTR lower console, and a CTR vent which are all black. People recommend VHT, Krylon and even Chevy Corvette paint I thought I read. I was wondering if anyone with a 96-00 Civic has dyed there dash black and how long it has lasted? And if the color matched there CTR parts? Thanks.....
Use a vinyl dye; not the spray paint.
The dye chemically alters the color of the vinyl all the way down. It's UV resistent and it will last as long as your factory color.
Any upholstery shop can get you set up with the dye, or even dye it for you.
