Default Quiet Mufflers??

Hey I'm just asking around for some help! I'm just wondering, what's a nice and quiet muffler that still has some nice sound to it. It's going on a 93 cx hatch. thanks.

Apexi World Sport, or Make a custom one with a aftermarket universal muffler and a resonator such as a Thrush Glasspack....thats what i did and it sounds mean and quiet...

But the Apexi World Sport is the best on for quietness, your intake if you have one will out-sound it.

Good luck

I used a magnaflow universal 5x8" (offset/center). Sounds really good, fit even better.

I was going to say that also....its not TOO quiet but its not as loud as most.

BTW you have a CX? I dont think any of these systems mentioned will fit your CX unless you get a OEM cat and a EX/SI Header, than the exhaust will reach. Dont make the mistake of buying a 400+ exhaust system for a CX when it wont reach the header...i have had the experience.

On the CX there is a Catalytic converter inside the header, if you add say the SP2 system, there will be a big gap in between the exhaust and the CX header. What you need to do is first get a EX/SI header because they dont have one built in, and then add an OEM or hi flow bolt on cat and you will be set. If you dont choose to go this route, get to a muffler shop and have a custom set-up made.

Good luck

Yup, seriously if you plan on keeping the CX motor get to a muffler shop and get a custom exhaust built for you.

I did with my CX, the motor is weak and makes a nasty raspy sound without a resonator so MAKE SURE its on your list, you may regret it when your buzzing around

Here is what i have. Custom 2 1/4" Piping from the stock header to a Thrush Glasspack Resonator and then to an Apexi N1 Muffler. Sounds fantastic....i love it.

Again, good luck

hell yeah, d15 sub power. A lot of bang for the mpg buck. The magnaflow universal upped my mpg from 36/gal average to 41-42/gal. Not a bad way to go for $50 for the muffler and $10 for the pipe from the axel to the muffler (got it at napa).

It's louder than stock. But It's not like I draw curses about it. I had previously put a K&N cone filter on the intake side and it's not much louder than that. It's got a solid sound when you open up, and is almost as quiet as stock during normal driving. Granted I live in a mountainous place so I have to floor it just to get around.

Also just the road noise in a dx just about drowns it out.
