Default Popping noise from exhaust?

I have a 94 gsr with aem CAI, dc sport 4-2-1 headers and an apexi n1 catback exhaust. I ust 93 octane and when i down shift and let the gears hold the car back theres a popping noise coming from exhaust i think the gas is exploding in the exhaust and i can hear it from inside the car. Any suggestions of what i should do aand how i can resovle this problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

im going to get some other parts should i just wait for them, then tune my car and take it in to see whats wrong or will it damage my car. If theres no effect of it damaging my car i think ill just wait.

yeah it is a backfire. having less back pressure or more free flo can cause that noise. to fix it...add a regsinator. another possibility is valve lash...try getting a valve adjustment

your car is running fine.. the apexi is a pretty big change over your stock exhaust.. it is just a much much more free flowing exhaust and the pop is just negative pressure.. no biggie.. my car does the same thing with my thermal and it runs more than fine.. dont sweat it.. the large difference in the back pressure is all it is, good luck

A resonator will not make your exhaust louder. It will actually make it quieter.
