I put a '99 civic si cluster in my '99 civic dx and everything works except for the tachometer. can anyone help me out???

 

bad cluster? it should work right away.

 

check to make sure the plug on the back of the cluster is tight. If it has any play then it is not making a good connection. That cluster will plug in and work without modification in any 96-00 civic.

even if the shop put a different engine harness. I got a B20B in my civic but I think they used a an LS harness dose thst matter.

 

should not matter. The harness you are pluging your cluster up to is the dash harness and they had no business changing that out. I cant see why they would have used the ls harness when all they needed to do was extend a couple of plugs on the factory engine harness and plug it up. Are you still obd2?
