i have a prefectly good cable and a hydro trannys sitting around and i need to use a hydro tranny expt the hydro has its fifth gear is burnt. my qestion is, is it possible to swap the interanls between the trannys.

the hydro tranny is a out of a b16a2
the cable tranny is y1 tranny (jdm sir tranny)

 

I am in need of the answer to this question also. very important.
please dont tell me to buy a hydro tranny

I have a screwed b16 hydro tranny, and a working 92 ls cable tranny.
just want to know if it will work

 

I believe the 92 ls is a large imput shaft tranny and those internals should fit in the b16a2 cases.The OP is out of luck with the y1/a2 swap.The y1 is a small shaft I think and won't work in the b16a2 cases.

 

Put simply. If the main shaft is the same (number of splines) the internals are interchangeable.
