i've seen some people talk about quiet exhausts, and i never thought about the noise level on the highway so i decided i wanna get a quiet one. so whats the nicest sounding exhaust thats quiet and has the best hp gain? any advice would be appreciated....thx in advance

Well I just installed my A'Pexi WS2 which is very quiet. It is starting to break in a little and I hope to post a full review of it after that time. As far as gains go (on a 96 EX w/ SRI) it definatly helped with drivability in the low RPM tq although part of the increase there could be because my old stock exhaust had holes in it. The car is easier to drive now. The SRI took away from the low end as well as the holes in the old exhaust but the WS2 makes it feel alot better down low even with SRI. Mid range I am noticing a little improvement as well but the top end feels relativly unchanged. Although I noticed improvements overall it is not that much faster. IMO aftermarket exhaust on a near stock car is dumb as there will be hardly any gains if any at all. The only reason I got the WS2 is because the OEM Honda replacemnt parts from a dealer were around $360 and I got the WS2 for $400.

try looking into the rs-r ex-mag also... very quiet exhaust and has very good reviews on it also... a friend of mine has one on his em1 and it sounds really quiet compared to my megan racing on my em1... even when at full throttle the exhaust does get loud, but even then it's still quiet.

 

im a big fan of the world sport. its 60mm like the n1. So the piping is the same. Actually ive had both sitting next to eachother and they are completely identical up to the axle back.

When i switched from the n1 to the world sport i noticed a loss in power up top. thats about it. but it was much quieter and that overweighed the power that i had daily driving.


World sport all the way! cheap, sounds good and stockish looking.

it will prolly be one of my all time favorite exhausts.

ive had apexi n1. greddy sp. greddy mx. hks sport (rare). Custom es oval. Magnaflow. pacesetter (first exhaust ever). Rsr (buddy had it) but its expensive.

for the money and what you get nothing better that you can buy off the shelf for around 400 shipped

 

i have the ws2 exhaust and its great. my friend has the rsr mag exhaust also sounds good and to me is quiter then mine. both r really good exhaust the ws2 is about 100 cheaper but its really up to u.

 

WS2 gets my vote as well. Reminds me of the really old Greddy SP's and the Tanabe GPower Medallion

 

I don't know if you are aware, but they do make the WS muffler in a 3" version.

 

i know it hard to find but ive got an hks super dragger and since the day that i put it on i have NEVER gotten looked at for being noisey. the tone is hella deep, and there is NO raspy whinney noise threwout all of the rpms.

 

yeah i've been looking for a quiet exhaust with gains as well. i'm going with the ws2 as well but ill probly do custom piping. thanks for all the great info.

 

stock exhaust with an e cut out just past the header. super quiet until you want to open it up, but then its super loud.

Anyone here running the 3" version??

 

I have the 3" OBX N1 tunable muffler.......not too loud on the lowest setting.......but I can get pretty loud with just the turn of a couple nuts!

 

i have a b18c gsr crx. i just recently put a high flow cat dc sport headers and a invidia cat back exhaust. the exhaust is amazing. very low tone, no raspy sounds. the exhaust is perfect because i can drive around quietly and when those mustangs come up, i know it sounds good as i pass them. build up some backpressure and its the deepest nicest sound you could ever imagine.

 

can anyone tell me how much hp is gained from the apexi ws2? ive tried looking but no luck

 

Dont for get about th e greddy exhaust.. its good and quiet..but still deep ...

 

and Magna flow, got one my self and its nice and quiet and looks stock. keeps cops away in my opinion...

Well I have never had my car dyno'd nor do I want to but so far I would say the butt dyno has told me like +1 hp and tq... lol... im not sure if you will be able to find that info to easily but it should do more for you than it did for me as you have an Si. DOHC &gt; SOHC in this case.
