please post pics of how the sway bar is positioned on a hatch having trouble with the install

you need to make sure you have the suspension loaded, or as it would be if the car were on the ground. The endlinks will not line up as they should otherwise if thats where you are having your problem. Hope that helps.

To those that have installed or upgraded their rear sway bar have you guys/gals noticed the difference in steering? i.e....understeer/oversteer? TIA!

 

it depends on the overall balance of your suspension. short answer: you get closer to oversteer.

long answer: the simple factors that cause a difference are your spring rates, front sway, and rear sway. stiffer spring rates will allow oversteer to come more easily. having just a rear sway will usually cause oversteer. having a factory spec front and rear sway will cause neutral to understeer. having an oversized rear sway with a factory spec front sway will lean toward oversteer. there are many other factors, but in short, more toward oversteer with a bigger rear sway, or by simply having a rear sway. if you dont have a front sway, be careful in the rain.

 

thanks for all the help guys yesterday i put my skunk 2 lower tie bar on along with my spc LCAs and my car feels alittle squirley right now with just the tie bar on (much like a firetruck with four wheel steering) But today i will be putting on a stock gsr rear sway bar and a stock civic front sway hopefully with the sway bars it will compensate for the tie bar and it wont be as squirley

 

still havent put my front sway on it but i think my front suspension is too soft, i'm running tokico blues with some coilovers, and my suspension is still really squirley any other ideas?

 

I dont have my rear sway in yet, waiting for my adj endlinks to come, but I want to play the show off game too, a bit dirty but oh well-

23mm ITR waiting to go in.


Function 7 and they are about 2" thick, I am not worried at all about breakage.

I love mine, although the endlinks bolted onto my rear arms.

 

NO sway bars but with ASR's?? hehehe yey for Charleston!! whats up man.

right know its the same 23mm ITR rear bar with ITR LCA's but I installed tokico illumina shocks and it looks a lot cleaner LOL

that is clean, what kind of brace are you using? is that for the SI? didnt know 23mm d brackets would bolt on to that.

whats all this about the sub-frame being ripped apart by sway bars?

 

Alright, I guess I havent looked well or long enough just yet at the rear of the car, but will my 99 ek hb have the proper mounting locations for the rear sway brackets or what will i need to bolt these on? I already have the rear brake setup from a 99gsr minus the lca's. It just appears that in these pictures posted above, there are some extra brackets or something bolted on holding the sway D-brackets in place. (obviously still new to all of this).

Here's another quick question.. for the rear brake conversion I did recieve the rear lca's from the gsr. Now, will those bolt up just the same as what is already on my car or will I need to get the rear shocks and such from that vehicle? I'm sure it would bolt to the spindle and lower subframe the same, just not sure about the lower shock mounting position.

Just FYI its all from a 99 gsr going onto my 99 ek hatch

One final thing, what kind of rear LCA do you recommend if the gsr stock lca will not work for me? Apparently people have some bad opinions about the Omni-power stuff..
