YAMAHA R6 VS SUZUKI GSX-R 600?
Hey, just have a quick question, which bike is better 02 r6 or 02 gsxr600. I like them both equally, i rode around on the gsxr and it felt comfortable and easily manevaurable. I sat on r6 and i noticed that bar handles slightly touch the gas tank when wheel is turned to the max. So since i never rode an R6 i cant really compare the two together myself so i turn to you for help. If you had to choose b/n the two which one would it be and why?
after riding both - i enjoyed the GSXR more. it felt a little bigger/wider which was better for me being 6'3" and the r6 felt smaller.
I had an easier time with the GSXR as far as riding as well.
the 02 GSXR is fuel injected, and the 02 r6 is carbs - i don't know if that makes a diff to you or not.

i dont have experience with 02's, but i would definatly take into consideration that the R6 was carb then and the gixxer was FI.
on a side note, i have an 05 R6, and have had people with just about every other bike out there ride mine. Every single one of them, hands down, said the 05 R6 was by far the most comfortable bike they had ever sat on. No ball crushing, easy to flat foot, and comfortable seat and rider position. I say go for the 05...heh

If that's true, I don't even want to ride another sportbike.

smokee, ride ducati red right? J/k lol. They both are sweet bikes, I would buy whatever fits you best, meaning most comfortable. I'm leaning towards the gixxer because it's FI.
the R6 went fuel injected a few years ago, '04 i want to say. both are good bikes, and if there was no CBR, i would prolly go gixxer. but all three are so close, its simply a matter of personal preference.
I said this before, but you can't go wrong on any of the big four (honda, kawasaki, yamaha and suzuki) Answering smokee's question: the r6 became fi in '03.
GSXR being ugly? I personally like how the new gsxr look. Especially with some track plastics on wooooweeeeeeeee

I didnt want to say anything, but i agree...i really dont like the look of the new gixxers, i was really into them at one point, but they totally lost me with that fugly headlight.
To each his own.

Once you Go gixxer you never go back

I second that. I personally don't like the look of 05 R6's. Headlights, body curving. Front end is too light on R6's. Plus you get a damper when you get gixxer!

Besides handling.. which is so obvious
, another reason to pick the R6 is just that most GSX-R riders are either stunnaz or poseurs.

I think the 02 R6 was better on the track than the 02 GSXR. Alternatively go for the yellow one, they are always the fastest.

i see more squids on R6's and R1's than GSXRS... i live in the bay area though, might be different elsewhere.

The Yamahas have way more stunna appeal than any of the other bikes.
I got it because of the comfort factor...but whenever I hear new riders talking about getting bikes, they always say, "I want an R6...nothing big." It's like the squid starter bike.
