so im building a motor for boost and i bought a brand new ITR head from acura. can i use this stock? or should i upgrade the valvesprings and retainers? looking to make 400WHP. thanks.

eagle rods
cp 9:1 pistons
itr oil pump/water pump

head completely stock ITR

 

itr valvetrain is fine up to 8200-8400 rpms, and even that high of rpms are still skeptical.
personally i would upgrade the valvetrain just to have room for upgrade and it'll give you reassurance that you won't have valve float when you do rev really high (if you are making power up there).

 

damn how much was the itr head from the dealer??

ok cool thanks, im gonna be adding supertech valvesprings and retainers. i bought the itr head new for 1400.
