i have a 92 civic dx and the temp gauge is all the way up as soon as i start it. and the speedo needle is on the wrong side if the pin (reads below zero) and when i get on the highway it goes backward to about 100mph

Sounds like either someone that owned it before you messed with the cluster and moved the needles [they will spin on the pin mount if you push them hard enough], or you have a SERIOUS wiring problem!

 

Is the temp needle on "C" when the car is off, or is it "up" a little?

 

Some one has been messing with things, alot of things. It almost sounds like they are running power through the ground side and ground through the power side.

 

the speedo works sometimes when i get off the highway, then when i turn the car off it doesn't work again the jumps to 100 then below the pin again and the temp gauge is reading c before i start it
