I'm not sure what you are asking but no K series trannys already include a Quaife. Quaife does make one for the 6speed, however.
no what i am asking is whether or not the i should change out my 6 speed tranny for a 5 speed in my fully built and boosted k20....a quaife will be added later to which ever one i decide to go with

yeah im hearing about the all motor k24 guys just making 180ft/lbs having traction issues off the line....ending up in 6th gear by the 1320..... thats my concern

You're going to have traction issues no matter what whp you're making.
I along w/ everyone else that used to be stock had issues from a stop, no matter what.
Obviously w/ the right setup suspension wise, tire and lsd you'll minimize it. You'll just have to ride it out. Good luck

Shorter gears always accelerate better than longer gears, but finding the right match between acceleration and traction is difficult, so sometimes cars will run faster ET's with the longer gears, simply because it's easier for them to hook up.

like i said, i feel that getting traction with **** loads of torque is going to be a problem, so i will feel more comfortable with a 5 speed

I see your point, but I would do everything you can before getting a tranny with longer gears. Get yourself a staged boost controller setup, traction bars, drag springs, etc...
It really depends on a lot of things though like tire size, rev limit, gear ratios, etc... You can't just pick a tranny, you have to calculate a lot of things if you want the best possible 1/4 time.
