fuel rail leaking
finished a 1st gen b16 swap into a eg sedan and we're having problems with gas leaking from the fuel rail.
It leaks from where the fuel hard line attaches to the rail. We tried every combination of washers, big one on top small one on the bottom, small one on top big one on bottom, two on top, two on the bottom....didn't really make a difference.
We tried swapping the fuel rail for a b18a rail and the FPR is right where the IAT sensor is, so we de-pinned the IAT and ditched the plug so we could fit the FPR on.
The problem with the rail that came on the b16 was that the stud that the hardline attaches to was too short and the little end cap wasn't fitting properly. We tried 3 different caps with no luck. Tried 3 different rails without any real luck. We ended up using the b18a rail with a washer on the top and one on the bottom, it doesn't leak as bad as the other combinations but it still is slowly slowly leaking out.
Do we need a different rail....like the 2nd gen b16 rail?
Thanks h-t.

Are you using a sealing washer that's meant for the fuel rail?
Just had to ask, since you only mentioned washers, and they need special sealing washers. Everytime you take off the fuel line you are supposed to put in new ones, since once they have been tightened, they crush which causes the seal.
