Default Where to place gauges in hatch?

Hey guys, I'm planning on adding some gauges to my car soon. Oil pressure, mix ratio and maybe oil temp. I was wondering where do you guys usually put them?

I was thinking of making a custom fit in the middle vent. Remove the middle vent and fit them in there. I know some people are putting them in the dash on the passenger side. It's a good place, but I'd rather have them closer.

If anyone has install pics that would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

Here are some poopy pics of my EF before I sold her with gauges. Two mounted into the dash and two on the pillar.

hey blown90hatch, i know this topic was discussed before, but did you hit the vent ducting when you put the 2 gauges in the dash? how did you like them there? i've toyed with the idea of sticking them there, but not sure yet.

Yeah, I had to go under the dash to get them into the ducting and up to the back side of the gauge. They were sick looking in there. They had the little angle cups so that they faced me perfectly.

I got the angle cups from autometer. I had the electrical/mechanical EGT gauge and then I had the mechanical fuel pressure gauge too.

did you have to take apart most of the dash to get up in there?

That looks pretty clean, I might consider going that way. I was thinking of maybe doing a custom fit in the middle vent, but I'm realizing this will be no easy job. I've heard it's not a good idea to put them on the side pillar. Cops don't like that

Thats what I want to do. Only move the boost AF and EGT gauges in there and put the fuel + Temp in my console

hey kam,
that middle picture, with the blue steering wheel and the what looks like stock guage bezzle... how did you get the tachometer to go up to 7300? that's about what i'm going to need and i don't want to swap in a 5inch monster tach on the dash, nor do i want to do a bunch of custom work... could you fill me in? thanks...

Not the most original location, but it gets the job done.

You're gonna looooveeee this... It's the ghetto style of my car!

1. remove cluster from car
2. crack open cluster so you have access to the gauge over-lays.
3. grab a bottle of whiteout and white out area until reline.
4. use whiteout to recreate new redline!

It was used for my ZC. I had it at around 7200rpm (best place to shift)
